Origin and history
Thyme, a symbol of courage and vitality, is an aromatic herb emblematic of the Mediterranean basin. Used since antiquity by the Egyptians for embalming and by the Greeks to purify the air, it was also burned in temples for its purifying properties. In the Middle Ages, it was offered to knights to give them strength and bravery. In herbal medicine, thyme is now recognized as a valuable ally for the respiratory system, digestion, and natural defenses .
