Bramble

The bramble, or "wild mulberry," is a thorny plant that bears blackberries. It grows mainly in undergrowth, wasteland, and along roadsides. The stems can reach 6 m in length, with their tips touching the ground. As early as the 1st century AD, the Greek physician Dioscord recommended using blackberries as a gargle for sore throats.
