Ravintsara

Origin and history

Ravintsara, whose name means "good leaf" in Malagasy, is a tree native to Madagascar. It is a variety of camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora) which, under the island's specific climate and soil conditions, develops a unique composition rich in cineole (1,8-cineole). Used for generations by local populations, ravintsara is considered a protective and purifying plant. Its essential oil, extracted from its leaves, is now recognized worldwide for its natural stimulating and antiviral properties.
