Prune

Origin and history

Prunes are the dried fruit of the Ente plum tree, a variety of plum (Prunus domestica) grown mainly in southwestern France, particularly in the Agen region. Its origins date back to ancient times, when plums were already consumed for their beneficial effects on digestion. The drying technique was developed in the Middle Ages, allowing for better preservation of the fruit and the birth of the famous Agen prune, now recognized for its quality and nutritional value.
