Origin and history
Scots pine is one of the oldest and most widespread conifers in the Northern Hemisphere. Native to the temperate and cold regions of Europe and Asia, it has been used since antiquity for its respiratory and tonic properties. The Egyptians already used its resin to embalm bodies, while the Greeks used its needles in decoctions to clear the bronchial tubes. A symbol of strength and vitality, Scots pine is today an essential plant in aromatherapy for supporting respiration and revitalizing the body.
