Boldo

Origin and history

Boldo is a small tree native to the mountainous and arid regions of Chile, where it grows naturally on sunny slopes. Used for centuries by the Andean peoples, it is considered a sacred plant for its digestive and liver-protective properties. Boldo leaves were traditionally infused after meals to soothe digestive disorders and overeating. Introduced to Europe in the 19th century, boldo quickly became a benchmark in herbal medicine for liver and digestive well-being. Even today, it is widely consumed in the form of infusions or extracts to promote the body's natural detoxification.
